Our program in North Bengal on 22 September, 2019

KURNISH organized a programme on 22nd September, 2019 for distribution of new dresses to 300 distressed, under privileged & poverty-stricken people of closed Tea Gardens in the districts of Alipurduar, North Bengal including one day BREAKFAST & LUNCH for them.

We also provided free SANITARY NAPKINS to the females of that particular area on yearly basis to make them habituated as we all know that 88% of women in India are driven to use ashes, newspapers, sand husks and dried leaves during their periods. As a result of these unhygienic practices, more than 70% of women suffer from reproductive tract infections, increasing the risk of contracting associated cancers.

We offered them one time good meal on the day of this programme so that they go back home with stomach filled in. At the end of the day, the people joined a chorus dance to kurnish the effort of Behala Kurnish Welfare Association. Click to view event pictures & videos
